Youth and Teen Program Manager
Announcement: The Youth and Teen Department of the I.J. & Jeanne Wagner Jewish Community Center in Salt Lake City is looking for a Program Manager to join our team!
Responsibilities/Job Description: As part of the Youth and Teen Department, the Program Manager is responsible for daily operations, children's programming, scheduling, staff development, and interfacing with parents. When the Youth and Teen Director is unavailable, the Program Manager represents the Department. The Program Manager helps resolve conflicts and models positive behavior. Youth and Teen has a seasonal rhythm. We hire seasonal afterschool and summer camp staff and the Program Manager must meet the demands of the moment while planning ahead, often months down the road. The Program Manager is required to lead day camps, sub into classrooms and drive JCC vehicles. The candidate must be at least 21 years of age, with a good driving record, and able to pass a background check. As part of daily operations, the Program Manager is responsible for files, rosters, food and supply orders, planning bus routes, calling schools and field trip partners, organizing staff training, communicating with parents, organizing activity schedules, arranging staff schedules, etcetera. As part of the JCC, the Program Manager participates in cross-department meetings and functions collaboratively across the workplace.
Skills: A successful Program Manager will exhibit meticulous organization and attention to detail. The candidate must be flexible and able to manage multiple demands simultaneously. Timely, professional communication with parents and staff is critical. The program manager will work closely with the Youth and Teen Director and there is ample room for professional growth. This is a rewarding position for someone with a can-do attitude and who is enthusiastic about children's programming and staff development. A successful Program Manager will be a positive role model for children and staff and actively problem-solve.
