Principal Responsibilities:

Camp Davis is looking for an engaging, enthusiastic, and electric STEM Specialty Camp instructor! If you enjoy working with children grades K-8, interested in part-time or full-time summer employment, and want to be part of a dynamic camp environment, Camp Davis is the place for you.

The STEM Specialty Camp instructor is responsible for lesson planning and teaching seven weekly specialty camps for campers. Each week will either be designed for K-4 or 5-8 for ease of planning. The instructor will follow Camp Davis' STEM Specialty Camp schedule, which has a different STEM-based theme each week. However, before the start of camp, weekly themes are flexible and the instructor is encouraged to collaborate with Camp Management on different ideas while finalizing the schedule based on personal interests or skills. Some example themes already on the schedule include The Science of Cooking, Lego Robotics, Environmental Science Through Gardening, Dinosaurs and Archeology, and more.

The STEM Specialty Camp instructor is required to work 8:30 am to 12:30 pm; the activities run from 9-12 with 30 minutes of planning/prep and cleanup time. The instructor is encouraged and allowed to work the whole camp day (until 3:00 pm) if additional hours are desired. During the afternoon, the instructor would help traditional camp specialists with their duties including running activities, lesson planning, etc.

Salary ~$500-$600 per week ($3500-$4200 for 7 total weeks) based on experience, availability, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Minimum 1 full year experience working with students grades K-8

- Ideally 1 full year experience working in a camp setting

- Classroom management, lesson planning, and engaging teaching skills

- Flexible mindset and ability to excel in fast-paced, fun camp environment
