Shalom Orlando is the newly merged Roth Family JCC and Jewish Federation of Greater Orlando. The Program Director is the lead professional charged with visioning and creating new Shalom Orlando programs to impact the Central Florida Jewish community. These programs may occur both inside The Roth Family JCC and throughout the Central Florida community. Located in Maitland, FL, Shalom Orlando is the center of Jewish life in Central Florida. This position requires the candidate to think, dream, and supervise staff as well as understand budgeting as we look to create the community organization for the next 50 years.Reporting to the Senior Director of Operations, the Director for Community and Culture serves as the visionary and implementor for new Shalom Orlando programs.
This is a hands-on position with supervision of program department directors who service the larger community outside the Jewish community campus, large program events. This includes:
The Bernard and Samra Gotlib Family Hanukkah, Yom Ha'atzmaut, and Purim celebrations, and includes the creation of new opportunities throughout Central Florida. Additionally, this position includes monitoring of each department's fiscal operations, financial resource development, and lay/volunteer leadership roles. The Director for Community and Culture will have the opportunity to dream and create. This position is the key professional working with the program committee and does have operational oversight. The ideal candidate will be dynamic, high-energy, organized, have high interpersonal skills, experience managing multiple functions and departments, and a high level of creativity.

PARENTAL LEAVE POLICY:
Shalom Orlando provides leaves of absence without pay to eligible employees for any of the following reasons:
The birth of a child and to care for such child.
The placement of a child with you for adoptions or foster care and to care for the newly placed child.
To care for a spouse, child or parent ("covered family member") with a serious health condition.
Eligible employees are normally granted leave up to a maximum of 12 weeks within a 12-month rolling period measured backward from the date of any leave usage.
If the initial period of approved absence proves insufficient, consideration will be given to a request for an
extension. Extensions will be provided based on operational requirements and business needs. However,
benefits will only be provided for the initial maximum of 12 weeks after which time the employee may apply for benefits continuation under COBRA.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, bend, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds (safety/weight belt provided, if requested). Specific vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus is required.
