The JCC Mid-Westchester (JCCMW) is seeking a Grant Accountant focused on our Toward Tomorrow Program, a state-funded special education preschool. This team member reports to the Senior Director of Finance. The Grant Accountant will work closely with the finance and Toward Tomorrow administrative teams in order to develop the financial strategy for the program, create the annual budgets, record and track accounting transactions, prepare mid-year and annual CFRs for the audits, track all expenses and revenue, and ensure funds are spent in optimal and effective ways to serve our children. Ideally, this team member has experience in nonprofit finance and government grants, in particular state education funding.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job include movement within an office environment. The role requires the ability to write by hand and use a keyboard to perform general office functions. Also requires the ability to communicate by speech and hearing continuously. Visual acuity is needed for detailed work, and computer use. The ability to sit for extended periods of time is also a requirement. Involved in activities where one must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers and children accurately, loudly, or quickly. On rare occasions, it may be necessary to move quicklyand use physical intervention or de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviors and ensure a safe and accessible environment.

Our Toward Tomorrow program, a renowned program that has been around for decades, provides a continuum of special-education services in a language-based, educational setting. The Toward Tomorrow program is a state-funded preschool approved by the Education Department of New York State and the Office of Children and Family Services, and chartered by the NY State Board of Regents. All teachers have master's degrees in special education, and teaching assistants are certified by the New York State Education Department. Students can be part of the state-funded preschool and/or receive related services such as occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy, or counseling. Currently, the Toward Tomorrow program, a 4410 program through NY State, operates at three sites in Scarsdale, New Rochelle, and Harrison. This staff position would be based in the JCC Mid-Westchester in Scarsdale. The program serves over 160 students in our three schools, and 115 students for related services and evaluations.

SALARY
$75,000-$78,000, full-time
