Principal Responsibilities:

Full-time Hebrew and Judaic Studies teacher needed for a K-8 Jewish day school, Akiva Academy. Teacher will be responsible for classroom instruction as well as contributing to the fostering of Jewish culture throughout the school.

The Hebrew Judaic Teacher will be responsible for but is not limited to the following duties:

• Ability to teach Judaic Studies to students Kindergarten through Eighth grade.
• Ability to teach Hebrew to students Kindergarten through Eighth grade.
• Deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons focused on Jewish texts, traditions, and values, utilizing the curriculum provided by the school.
• Encourage meaningful discussions that foster a deeper connection to Judaic studies and Jewish identity.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of middle school students. Classes may include students at different levels and the ideal candidates will have the ability to challenge students at different levels.
• Create a respectful and engaging classroom environment that promotes Torah values and intellectual curiosity.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure curriculum alignment and support student learning.
• Build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, embodying Akiva's core values.
• Communicate effectively with parents to promote student progress and success.
• Supervise students during non-instructional times, ensuring a safe and positive environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Judaic Studies, or a related field preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Jewish texts, traditions, history, and values.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and classroom management skills.
• A commitment to serving as a role model for students in personal behavior, dress, and attitude.

Salary:

$45,000 - $55,000

The JCC provides a full range of services, including Early Learning Center, aquatics, fitness, cultural and performing arts, Logan Campus and Akiva Academy, a K-8 Jewish Day School.
