Sunrise Association builds and operates free summer day camps and year-round in-hospital programs for children with cancer and their siblings in the United States and in Israel. Currently Sunrise offers 8 summer camps and 43 weekly in-hospital programs. Because of the extreme financial impact on families with children with cancer, all Sunrise programs are offered for free.
Sunrise is currently looking for a part-time (20 hours/week) Development Executive to raise funds to support our operations in the State of Israel. Sunrise currently operates 3 summer camps and 4 in-hospital programs in Israel; our population of children and staff come from every aspect of Israeli society - Jewish, Christian, Muslim, etc. The successful candidate will be charged with raising funds here in the United States and/or overseas in myriad ways to support the operation. The Development Executive will be responsible for creating new opportunities and relationships, seeking out and successfully soliciting individuals, companies and foundations, and maintaining relationships with past organizations/donors who have given grants.
Sunrise Association's main offices are located in New York, but this position may be a remote position if necessary.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus 3-5 years' experience.
Prior experience raising funds in Israel or for Israeli causes a huge plus!
A record of personal success identifying, cultivating, and engaging new donors with significant philanthropic capacity via strategic outreach and action steps, including one-on-one discovery meetings and personalized engagement opportunities.
The mission of the Sunrise Association is to bring back the joys of childhood to children with cancer and their siblings world-wide, through the creation of Sunrise Day Camps, Year-Round Programs and In-Hospital Recreational Activities, all offered free of charge. Currently the Sunrise Association oversees 8 day camps in New York, Baltimore, Atlanta and Israel, is affiliated with 30 pediatric oncology hospitals in the catchment areas of our camps, and oversees myriad year-round programs both in and outside of our hospital network. In 2021 the Sunrise Association will care for nearly 7,000 children between our camps and year-round programs.
