Compensation
We'll pay you an annual salary of $110,000 to $120,000.
Position will start June 2025
The Shalom Austin Jewish Family Service (JFS) Executive Director is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic growth, and operational excellence of JFS. This role focuses on business operations, financial management, and community engagement to ensure the long-term sustainability and impact of JFS. The Executive Director provides visionary leadership, ensures fiscal accountability, develops funding sources, and builds strong relationships within the community to support JFS's mission.
You'll wow us by masterfully performing the following key duties and responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership and Community Building
- Develops and implements a unifying vision and prioritizes strategic initiatives that align with Shalom Austin's mission and goals.
- Builds strong relationships with key stakeholders, including community partners, donors, and volunteers, to enhance the agency's reach and impact.
- Works closely with the JFS Committee and lay leaders to ensure programs are holistic, collaborative, and responsive to community needs.
- Represents JFS within the Jewish and general communities, strengthening partnerships and increasing visibility.
- Fosters internal workplace culture and staff satisfaction.
Business Operations and Fiscal Management
- Leads and manages the daily operations of JFS, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and adherence to best practices.
- Supervises and coordinates Jewish Family Service staff and service delivery including clinical services, case management services, and other duties as assigned.
- Develops, monitors, and manages the JFS budget to ensure financial sustainability and fiscal accountability.
- Identifies, secures, and manages funding sources, including grants, sponsorships, and donor contributions.
- Reports out program effectiveness, financial performance, and operational metrics.
- Evaluates and oversees infrastructure needs to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
- Coordinates with shared services across the organization (marketing, accounting, and human resources).
Program Development and Service Delivery
- Guides program planning and execution to meet the evolving needs of the Austin Jewish community.
- Ensures high-quality service delivery through effective staff supervision, professional development, and adherence to industry standards.
- Works closely with clinical and program staff to maintain excellence in service provision while expanding program offerings.
- Collaborates with other Shalom Austin programs and services to foster an integrated approach to community support.
Governance and Volunteer Engagement
- Ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and standards including clinical licensure requirements, overseeing credentialing and adherence to professional standards for clinical staff.
- Supports the volunteer leadership in setting policies and making strategic decisions for JFS.
- Prepares and presents reports to Shalom Austin leadership, ensuring transparency and alignment with organizational goals.
- Support[GU1] s the volunteer leadership to help identify, recruit, and engage volunteers to strengthen JFS's impact and operations.
- Serves as primary staff support for the JFS Committee, providing guidance and resources for effective governance

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required, advanced degree in social work, public administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of management experience, extensive experience in non-profit management preferred, particularly in the social service sector.
- Proven track record of successful fundraising and donor cultivation.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with ability to build consensus and collaborate effectively.
- Strong background and knowledge of the Jewish community and its needs.
- Financial acumen and ability to manage complex budgets.
- Ability to be flexible, delegate appropriately, and manage multiple efforts simultaneously.
- Knowledge of organizational management and governance principles.
- Proven track record of successful development and management of programs and services.
Salary:
$105,000 - $120,000

The Shalom Austin Jewish Community Center (JCC) is one of the four branches of Shalom Austin. The JCC is your place to connect with the community, build friendships, improve physical fitness and overall wellness, and attend programs with family and friends. The "J" is open to all.
