Kindergarten Teacher
JCC of Greater Baltimore
3506 Gwynnbrook Ave
Rosenbloom Campus
Owings Mills, MD 21117

Principal Responsibilities:

Inspired by the work we do every day, the JCC is an organization centered by Jewish values and focused on creating meaningful experiences and opportunities to enrich, connect, and positively impact our community.

We pride ourselves on our inclusive and welcoming workplace and celebrate the diversity of our employees.

We value all members of our team in a supportive environment in which everyone is treated with appreciation and respect and positioned to do their best work every day.

The Stoler Early Learning Center is located at the Rosenbloom Owings Mills JCC in Greater Baltimore. We serve almost 200 children from the ages of 10 weeks through kindergarten. It is our belief that each child is unique, and our educators strive to address their strengths, needs, and interests in a comprehensive, child-centered approach in which they focus on using exploration and discovery as a vehicle for children to learn by providing open ended-provocations. Research shows that the best way to help children succeed long term is to teach them to be creative, resilient, and confident thinkers by providing them with multiple opportunities to demonstrate their learning through play. Our school is working towards living and breathing a constructivist inspired philosophy and embracing a spirit of innovation and experimentation in order to create a caring community of learners in which educators and students can grow alongside one another physically, emotionally, and intellectually.

The certified Kindergarten teacher will lead our oldest students along their educational journey. Our "K at the J" program is based on the belief that young children learn best through active involvement with materials in their environment in order to build self-confidence and develop curiosity. By fostering communication skills, our Kindergarten teacher will use our approved curriculums to provide students with opportunities to learn about themselves and their community to acquire the knowledge that will allow them to make strong, healthy choices now and in the future. Jewish culture and values are integrated throughout the curriculum, thereby encouraging strong character development in all of students. The Kindergarten teacher will be responsible for facilitating experiences that allow our kindergarten students to be actively involved in learning about Jewish holidays, customs and traditions in a way that reflects the goals and values of the program, and the JCC as a whole.

The Stoler Early Childhood Center's salaries and benefits are highly competitive with those in other leading independent preschools. The JCC offers a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees that includes vacation days, sick days, health, life insurance, paid parental leave and a 401(k) retirement plan with employer match. Other benefits include a complimentary JCC membership and reduced rates on children's services and youth, teen, and adult programming. The JCC offers a work environment that supports professional development, collaboration and makes work/life balance a priority.

JCC ELC staff are required to be fully vaccinated, including one booster, for the COVID virus or have a valid medical or religious accommodation.

This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive, and incumbent will also perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by supervisor or other management as required.
