Principal Responsibilities:

  • Manage all maintenance (facility, aquatics, and property), including planning and developing preventative maintenance programs and annual improvement plans;
  • Inspect facilities and grounds for safety code violations and risk management, repair and maintenance. Maintain detailed logs of service needs and timeline for repair;
  • Supervise in-house and outside housekeeping support to ensure safe, clean facilities;
  • Coordinate campus property management to include maintenance of permeable pavers, trash removal, snow removal and landscaping;
  • Remain alert, proactive and responsive to maintenance issues within the facility that are in need of upgrade, repair or improvement. Develop and maintain an asset replacement schedule with corresponding calendar;
  • Manage basic repairs and maintenance and perform preventative maintenance as needed;
  • Oversee outside contractors when professional repairs are needed;
  • Negotiate service contracts for the large mechanical systems with appropriate service companies and oversee completion of tasks;
  • Oversee pool operations in accordance with safety guidelines;
  • Develop standard operating procedures for facilities, aquatics and property;
  • Help prepare and administer occupancy budget, as well as coordinate payment of expenses;
  • Coordinate JCC security committee;

  • Participate in regular departmental meetings;
  • Represent and promote the Kaiserman JCC in the community as needed and develop positive working relationships with other organizations, business and governmental entities;
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by the supervisor;


  • Experience in facilities and property management; Pool operations a plus;
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems; Carpentry, and other areas a plus;
  • Detail oriented;
  • Possess excellent customer service and communication skills to work with staff, vendors, members, volunteers, and board members;
  • Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations;

Agency Information:

The Facilities Manager is a full-time staff position with the Kaiserman Jewish Community Center. Under the supervision of the CEO, the Facilities Manager leads the maintenance and improvement operations at the JCC, including preventative maintenance and budgets. The Facilities Manager supervises the maintenance staff and staff satisfaction by ensuring excellence in safety, security, cleanliness, and attractiveness of all JCC facilities.
