Principal Responsibilities:
This is not a traditional camp director role.
This is a chance to build something exceptional.
Shalom Orlando is focused on creating an exceptional day camp and ecosystem of youth experiences.
We are looking for someone who is ready to step into a bigger role, someone who has already shown strong execution and is now ready to build, lead, and scale something that matters.
This is a hybrid leadership role.
You will set vision and you will execute.
You will build programs and you will build people.

What You'll Build
A Camp That Stands Out
- Reimagine and lead Camp J as a flagship, high-demand program
- Develop standout camps that attract new audiences and deepen engagement
- Design experiences that feel intentional, high-quality, and memorable
- Continuously evolve programming based on trends, feedback, and performance
A Year-Round Youth Platform
- Oversee and expand:
- Kids Night Out and family experiences
- Vacation and seasonal camps
- Build a clear pathway for families from ECLC through teen leadership
- Launch new offerings that increase both participation and revenue
A Team That Grows Under You
- Recruit, train, and mentor exceptional staff
- Build a leadership pipeline from CITs and counselors to future program leaders
- Create systems for onboarding, training, feedback, and growth
- Set a culture of ownership, accountability, and pride

How You'll Be Measured
This is a results-driven leadership role.
You will be expected not only to meet expectations, but to exceed them.
Success will be measured by:
- Growth in enrollment across camp and youth programs
- Retention of campers and families year over year
- Staff performance, development, and retention
- Expansion and success of new youth programs and specialty offerings
- Strength of relationships with families and community
- Overall program quality and reputation

Minimum Qualifications:

- You have experience executing, and you are ready to lead at a higher level
- You are both strategic and hands-on

- You are highly organized and follow through on what you start
- You are strong with people, especially parents, staff, and young leaders
You likely have:
- 8+ years of experience in camp, youth programming, or experiential education
- Strong leadership experience managing operations, including budgeting, expense oversight, staffing, vendor coordination, and hitting program goals
- A track record of growing programs and improving performance over time
- Experience building, managing, and developing teams
- Clear, confident communication and strong organizational skills
- Comfort using new tools and technology, including a willingness to explore AI-driven approaches
- Experience in the Jewish community, with a strong understanding of Jewish culture, values, and family life
