POSITION DESCRIPTION
A function of this and every job at the JCC is to ensure that each member, guest, and visitor leaves the J feeling just a little better than when they arrived.
The Health & Fitness Coordinator will support the H&F Manager with daily operations of the department based on this position's part-time schedule. This hands-on position is responsible for the cleanliness, organization, operation, and maintenance of all Health & Fitness facility spaces & equipment, while supporting tools and technology that streamline programs and services including but not limited to: MindBody, Daxko Operations, Les Mills Virtual Scheduler, etc.
This is a highly visible position requiring relationship building and regular availability to members and sta?, attendance at all relevant meetings and JCC functions. This position may also play a role in development as it relates to the H&F department and/or the JCC as a whole. Ideally this role is a health & ?tness enthusiast with passion and experience to balance the aspects of an H&F Coordinator position with opportunity to become multi-faceted in our Professional Training/Instructing teams - in a part-time capacity. Hours worked during the week as H&F Coordinator cannot exceed 29 hours per week, including any time spent Training/Instructing/Subbing if applicable.
This position supports program scheduling, ensuring maintenance, cleanliness, and safety in all areas and for all equipment.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working in customer service and/or administration; experience in a corporate, multi- purpose or commercial ?tness facility preferred
- Computer skills and pro?ciency with Microsoft O?ce programming, spreadsheets and database management.
- Preferred but not required: Bachelor's degree in related ?eld
- Completion of the CPR/First Aid/ AED certi?cation. Must be current and renewed bi-annually. Training o?ered through the JCC to all employees.
- Preferred but not required: group ?tness, personal training, Pilates and/or health & wellness
modalities credentials, experience and/or passion
- Pro?ciency in the use of a variety of exercise equipment preferred.
- Can lift 25+ pounds
PROFESSIONAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Service & Daily Operations
- Supports daily operations of health, sports, recreation and ?tness facilities, services, team and members
- Supports daily department facility operations, cleanliness, and team needs.
- Supports department customer service in order to establish and maintain e?ective working relationships with other employees, contractors, members and guests
- Continually reinforces the level of customer service required by department sta?
- Supports timely response to members and sta? needs and requests relative to department-speci?c programs and services, technology, facility use and equipment
- Supports facility tours, orientations and safety measures for members working out.
Technology
- Support Dept. Manager with MindBody reservations and member communications with Desk sta?.
- Support Dept. Manager with daily communications and support needs of ICs for group ?tness, Pilates and professional training classes and sessions.
- Supports group reservation tools, Fitness Desk coordination, attendance tracking and equipment for live and virtual classes.
- Supports Les Mills Virtual Program implementation
Programs & Services
- Supports department vision and growth opportunities for health and ?tness programs, working with Dept. Manager in day-to-day operations on site and administrative functions for optimal execution.
- Supports execution of H&F fun-raising events, educational services, fairs, clinics and special programs in collaboration with the department Program Director & Dept. Manager
- Supports data collection, auditing and tracking for past patterns and future successes
- Collaborates with Membership for new member welcoming and H&F orientations
- Supports daily execution of all programs and services including but not limited to group ?tness live and virtual classes, instructor and attendance; professional training team, sessions and classes, basketball and other sports, massage therapy and holistic health services.
- Refers clients to the programs and services available at the Center that will assist them in meeting their needs.
EXPECTATIONS

- Follows facility guidelines for Covid-19 mandates, or other as applicable
