Ilene Kirschner Madwed | Managing Director of Membership Services
Stamford JCC
I have been the Managing Director of Membership Services at the Stamford JCC for the past five years. For the three years prior to this, I was the part-time Membership Associate and also stepped in when needed as the Strategic Plan Administrator. I have been a JCC member for 24 years and during that time was an active volunteer, serving on the Jewish Life, Youth and Adult Committees, Tzahal Shalom Committee as well as being a Tzahal Shalom host family. I was also a member of the Board of Directors and honored as a Volunteer of the Year.
Before working at the JCC, I was a Business and Distributive Education teacher in Westchester and Rockland Counties. I have a Masters of Science and Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Education from the State University of New York at Albany.
I have three children, Dana a math teacher in the Bronx, Daniel a senior at the University of Michigan and Andrew, a freshman at the University of Hartford.
There are so many wonderful things about being part of a JCC. Each day I have the opportunity to share our facilities and programs with potential members as well as to visit with current members. Making sure that everyone feels welcome whenever they enter the JCC is what I enjoy about this position. Having the chance to see children learn and grow up as they come here, including my own, is also very special. For me, I value the importance of having a vibrant Jewish Community Center in Stamford.
